We got a call about a parking lot lighting system that had been knocked out by vandalism. When security lighting goes down at a commercial property, it stops being just an inconvenience real fast. It becomes a liability and a safety issue - plain and simple. So we got out there and got to work.
The first thing we did was trace the damage. That meant getting into the wiring at the base of each pole, testing connections with a multimeter, and working our way back through the system. The vandalism had done a number on the wiring - conductors were left exposed and the connections at the pole base were completely compromised. Nothing you want to leave sitting like that.
We also pulled open the lighting control enclosure to check the TORK timer and contactor. These are the components that actually schedule when your lights come on and off. If those get skipped during troubleshooting, you can fix the poles and still end up with a system that won't operate correctly. We checked it all.
Once we traced every fault and made the necessary repairs, we verified the full system was back up and running safely. Multiple poles across the lot - all back in service. That's what thorough electrical troubleshooting looks like. Not just swapping parts and hoping for the best, but actually finding the root cause and fixing it right.
Vandalism-related electrical damage is more common than most property managers expect, and it tends to spread when it goes unaddressed. Exposed wiring creates hazards, and dark parking lots create bigger problems. If your site has lighting or electrical damage from vandalism or wear, this is exactly the kind of work we do.
