



A whole-house water filtration system is a solid upgrade for any home. But a lot of homeowners don't think about the electrical side of it until the last minute. Getting that power source right - especially when water is involved - is not something you want to cut corners on.
Here's what we were working with: an exterior stucco wall that needed a new outlet run specifically for the filtration system. We fished the wire through the wall and set up a weatherproof GFCI outlet with a covered box. GFCI protection is required any time you're putting an outlet near a water source. It monitors the circuit constantly and cuts power in milliseconds if it detects any irregularity. That matters a lot when your equipment is sitting right next to a water line.
Once everything was wired up, we tested it with a Klein Tools RT250 GFCI outlet tester. That's the device that confirms the outlet is wired correctly and that the GFCI function actually trips and resets the way it should. The tester read "CORRECT" with the green light lit - no faults, no wiring issues. Clean power, properly protected.
