




This Apple Valley home was running on an older 100 amp panel - and it was showing its age. The breaker directory was handwritten and packed, the enclosure was worn, and the home had an ADU disconnect added into the mix. At some point, that panel just stops being enough. When we pulled the old panel, here's what we were dealing with: existing wiring routed in multiple directions, flex conduit coming off the wall, and a service entrance that needed to be properly reconfigured for the new equipment. The wall cavity had to be opened up to get everything repositioned correctly. We installed a new 200 amp Square D panel with a full breaker layout, clean wire routing, and proper terminations throughout. The new 200 amp main disconnect sits at the bottom of the panel with the lugs covered - safe, accessible, and up to current code. Every circuit got landed cleanly, and the overall setup now has room to grow. Whether this homeowner wants to add a subpanel for the ADU, go solar, or just stop worrying about tripped breakers - the capacity is there.
A panel upgrade like this also gives us the chance to do a full code correction and safety inspection on everything we touch. Older panels often have wiring issues that never got addressed - wrong wire gauges, double-tapped breakers, missing grounds.
